Six months of Tsunami Sea
Spiritbox's second album has not left the top of our charts since March. A look at why.
Tsunami Sea came out on March 7, 2025 and has been sitting at or near the top of Heavy Rotation ever since. Soft Spine had been the most-played single in the scene for five months before the album even landed, and the deep cuts have only reinforced it.
The reason it lasts is range. Perfect Soul is a straight-up rock song. Soft Spine is a hardcore song wearing a pop chorus. Tsunami Sea, the title track, does the widescreen thing Eternal Blue only hinted at. Courtney LaPlante's clean vocals are the constant that glues it together.
Spiritbox spent most of 2025 on the road behind it, and the setlists have been leaning on the new material rather than the old hits. That is usually the sign a band knows it has the record.
