Lorna Shore and Dayseeker took over the same Friday
Two of the scene's biggest 2025 records landed on September 12. Here is how they hold up together.
Lorna Shore's I Feel the Everblack Festering Within Me and Dayseeker's Creature in the Black Night arrived on the same Friday, and the contrast could not be sharper. One is a wall of orchestral deathcore built to be felt in the chest. The other is a post-hardcore record that finally lets the heavy side of the band off the leash.
Everblack is the more obvious statement. Will Ramos remains the most talked-about vocalist in the genre, and the arrangements are bigger than Pain Remains in every direction. Whether bigger is better is the argument the internet is having this week.
Creature in the Black Night is the quieter surprise. Dayseeker spent the Dark Sun cycle proving they could write arena-sized choruses. This time the title track and its neighbors bring the breakdowns back without losing the melody that got them here.
